Folkuniversitetet is independent of all political, religious and commercial interests.

International cooperation, pedagogic development, democracy and focus on the individual are central values for us. We have given

important contributions to development of Swedish education and training, for example evening gymnasiums, language centres,

Swedish for immigrants, college and ICT-based education. Visions and ideas for better learning methods are developed and tested in

project groups, often in international cooperation. Coaching, mentorship, validation, learning in working life, empowerment and

active guidance based on individual needs are examples of areas we are developing, and implementing to our own organisation.

Folkuniversitetet have good cooperation with many migrant associations and together with them we arrange different events such

as culture day, handicraft day etc. Through our network and cooperation we can reach the target group and end users. The skills/

expertise of the persons working with migrant are wide there are everything from language teacher, coach, migrant experiences to teachers in motivation, counsellors.

France, CORREA

Correa was founded in 2007. Its main objective is to deliver high-quality and human training to on-the-job workers relying on high

standards, pedagogical innovation and technological state-of-the-art tools.

We develop pedagogical engineering and online materials for projects related to training, assessment and validation of

competences. We work with different specialists in the fields according to the priorities and objectives of the project.

We actually train hospital staff in the public hospitals of the AP-HP network in the region around Paris , Ile-de-France. We up-skilled

home carers on ICT tools for the SAMAREPA people's services. We developed online tools for the training of basic French learning for

the migrant factory workers of the Chronopost regional plant.

We can spread the information of the project also by these networks:

• The Défi-metiers Network which covers the Ile-de-France région over a 1000 training centres reached and 5 000 readers.

• The réseau Alpha which is devoted to inform migrants on the available courses in the region

• The Grid which is a network of African migrant groups in the Paris region

• The réseau Aurore which welcome the migrants in the Paris region with over 600 volunteers

• The réseau des GRETA which the public adult education purveyor and which runs the key competences for the Paris region with 20

centres.

Greece, IDEC

IDEC is a training consulting company located in Piraeus, Greece. Its activities consist of training, management consulting, quality

assurance, evaluation and development of ICT solutions for both private and public sector. Clients of IDEC are both SMEs and the

bigger Greek companies of a wide variety of sectors. It co-operates with more than 600 institutes all through Europe and with about

300 experts on specific fields.


IDEC has extensive experience in European projects, either as coordinator or as partner from different European programs and Initiatives. The last 10 years IDEC is dealing among others with the theme of migrants and refugees in Europe and has coordinated in

this field the project “Empower Migrants [MIGRANTS+]”.

It has been accredited as a lifelong learning centre and organises in-service training courses for teachers, trainers and youth, study

visits and informal learning activities for students in initial education and training and provides training courses and work

placements for students in vocational training and people in labour market.

Germany, VOLKSHOCHSCHULE IM LANDKREIS CHAM EV

VHS Cham is a registered, non-profit association in Upper Palatinate; it acts on a regional level. The total number of fulltime

administrative, teaching and training employees is 65 and about 300 freelancers. VHS Cham provides courses in the field of society,

vocation, languages, health, culture and special courses (second chance schools). VHS Cham has a long term experience of course

development for migrants and refugees with the specific focus on language (approx more than 700 participants of the German

courses, data statistic 2015). For this group, VHS Cham organises integration language courses and orientation courses. After the

600 hours of language course participants can complete an official exam B1 level. An important part of those courses is the

naturalization test preparation for migrant learners. During the last year VHS Cham implemented also new German courses for asylum seekers “Working in Germany” supported by the ministry and specific courses for migrant learners especially young ones,

e.g. Perspektive für Fluchtlinge - a course focusing on acquisition of language skills and professional skills; Alphabetisierung - a

literacy course for migrant learners and courses for youth - support juveniles with a migration background in developing their

personal strengths and obtaining social skills.

United Kingdom, Creating Ground

Creating Ground CIC is a newly set up social enterprise promoting cultural awareness, understanding, mutual learning and sharing

across different communities in London (mainly in the borough of Greenwich, Lewisham, and Woolwich Arsenal) through crosscultural

collaborative arts and educational projects.

The area where the organisation cooperates is considered one of the most deprived areas in London: it has the 5th highest

unemployment rate within London boroughs, the unemployment rate has increased by 0.5% since 2011, 48% of 19 year olds have

no qualifications, the highest rate in London. There is also an above average rate of obesity and underage pregnancy.

Creating Ground works mainly with migrant groups and families in the area. It is currently planning the delivery of an 8-week course

for a group of migrant women and a project for refugees and university students for the University of East London.

Through the use of arts (mainly drama), people share their experiences, express their feelings and overcome difficulties tackling hot

topics and issues reflecting, learning and bringing about change in their lives and communities. Creating Ground also organize the

European Union mobility exchange projects in collaboration with organizations and schools, mainly from Italy, but also from other

European Countries.
